we just adopted a 7 week old yellow lab. He seemed very healthy but had fleas. Our vet prescribed a flea medication and about 2 hours later he started having stiff legs and falling over. The vet thinks it could be CNM (unrelated to flea medicine). Has anyone had experience with this? Would CNM come and go (a noticible episode and then a complete return to normal in between)? Test results will take 7-10 days to confirm. I can’t find any info about episodes coming and going with normal gait and posture in between.

Hi Wally'smom, Welcome to the forum.

I'm so sorry to hear you are having such a worrying time.

I'm afraid I've no personal experience of CNM to help you with, and although it's common in some breeds to my knowledge Labs are not one that you would usually hear about it in.

I think there is a genetic test for the condition, however, which you could ask your vet to carry out so that you know what you are dealing with?

Wishing you and your puppy all the best. Do let us know how he gets along.
