I thought we'd practise a little room-to-room recall this afternoon, and Brew came flying towards me from the hall back into the kitchen no trouble. She is incredibly well motivated by cheese, and once she thinks it's game on, waiting for her to lose interest so we can repeat the exercise takes time. I picked up a magazine and started to browse. After a little while, I heard her feet exit the kitchen. However, when I sneaked a peek over the top of the magazine, her little face was peering at me intently round the kitchen door, and she was shuffling all excitedly on her haunches, ready to run back in the second I blew that whistle... ;D ;D ;D

One of us is one step ahead, and I know it's not me!!!

Clare we were the same.....I had to hide food in rooms in advance and try and sneak out after the first 2 days of practice....And wait until you have to try and recall from sleep......in his life dexter has never let me move without following me ,even when in the deepest snooze!.....can see you tiptoeing round the house already!good luck ,you sound like you are progressing really well x

It made me laugh too, Kate - so we ended up in a not-very-serious training heap on the kitchen floor...

Thanks to Dexter then I now know what to do to try and stay ahead - I shall be hiding treat pots around the downstairs from now on. Really enjoying the training though!

That is so cute ;) I could picture that happening, he he
Harley follows me everywhere, (the same as Dexter with Angela!), even if she is sound asleep! ;D

I am having the same trouble with Simba....and not sure how well the "hiding" of treats would go. I'm sure he'd sniff them out!
