hello, My lab puppy cooper is 12 and a half weeks old and we are loving every minute.

However, can anyone tell me there experiences as to when pups start sleeping through the night. He has never slept through and wakes for a potty break at least once a night which is fine. However, last few nights it has been 2-3 times and the broken sleep is killing me.

So I just have a few questions?

    1. should I remove his water before bed and now give him any through the night or is this cruel?

    2. what age should he sleep from say 10pm to 6am?

    any tips would be great.

    thanks

DO NOT remove his water bowl.

Does he only wake (you) up to potty, or does he want company? Puppies do have some setbacks, it could just be a week. My lab pup stopped at 14 weeks, the vizsla needed a little more time, I think it was 4 months or so. Every puppy is different, he will get there.

yeah he not bothered about being in his cage alone he often puts himself in there anyway its just to go out to toilet and then he does put himself back in the cage after I don't pay him any attention.

I cant complain really and re-assuring knowing he will grow out of it eventually. Ill soldier on.

    Thanks

When I got my puppy at around 4 months she was sleeping through the night and has since (or at least holding it and being quiet). She may have been able to do it for a while. I did pick up her water bowl for a while thinking that would make it easier for her but it turned out not to make a difference in whether or not she would hold it so now I just leave it down.

We got Lincoln at 9 weeks old and he slept through the night without a peep from the first day. I think all pups are different.
