Hello! We are looking for a female chocolate or black lab pure bred to breed with our handsome sweet yellow lab (male) around the Tallahassee area. He has an excellent disposition and pedigree. We aren’t looking for a stud fee, just want to continue his lineage and keep one of his pups.
Halley, it's very unlikely a bitch owner will want to breed with your male. When a bitch owner chooses a stud, they will want to ensure that at a bare minimum, the dog is fully health-tested - which means hip-scored, elbow-scored, eye test and DNA tests done. And then they will likely look for a stud with titles - whether conformation or field or another dog sport. The bitch owner is choosing a stud which will help sell the puppies they produce. An unhealth-tested stud dog which carries no qualifications or titles, is simply not going to sell many pups.
