Hi hope everybody had a nice Christmas. As I've being feeding my 9month lab on science plan puppy food . I'm going to stick on this brand till he's one. Can any body recommend any other good quality brand When he turns one Not been a cheap skate I whant to give him the best possible food Or do you recommend me to stick to this brand thanks
Hi Dylan, I've had a brilliant Christmas thanks! Choosing a food is quite a personal thing really. My own preference is for a raw diet, but when I do need to feed a commercial food I use Origen or James Wellbeloved (not sure if the latter is available outside the UK) I also use either of these for training treats. If your dog is happy and fit on the current brand and it's not stretching your wallet too much it may be simplest to stick with it. Aside from general health, fairly small, firm poops are a good indicator that all is well with your dog's diet. Cheaper foods can mean bulky, and very smelly poops as they contain more fillers. Hope I haven't put you off your supper
Hi Dylan, I am not expert and Pippa has far more knowledge and experience than me. However our pup Nora we originally had on Orijen then Acana both of which are great foods. However I think it was just too rich for her and we switched her to Annamaet, and she's doing really well on it. Plus the Annamaet is still a great food but cheaper than Orijen or Acana. So personally just do your research, be well informed, and choose a food that your dog does well on.
