Re: Jakes trail of destruction
..good job Dexter has never marked anywhere in the house or garden.....that could be yet another consideration on the whole tree conundrum.
Eeek.... Whole new world of hazards right there. I think that Twiggy was understated, yet elegant.
Re: Jakes trail of destruction
In our house tree decorating is a family affair, and I still have all the ornaments the kids made as they grew up.....not very decorator-like, but I love my haphazard, full-of-memories tree! Methinks a "Let's see your Christmas tree" thread is a-brewin'....
Aww Lisa same here, we have a tree in the pool room (not swimming pool - sigh!) and that has all the decorations the children made right from nursery which they decorate, then we have the main real Norward Spruce non drop large tree in the sitting room that is decorated in Silver, White and a touch of Gold. Now I am a little OCD over this tree and drive myself absolutely nuts over the whole season moving decorations and having to have it just so :-[ We all decorate it but I am very precise and 'advise' everyone where they should place their ornaments, I can feel my heart beating now just thinking about the stress of it xxx
Like that idea a lot! ;D I can feel my heart beating now just thinking about the stress of it
Ha ha ha!Helen,I agree!im the same ...I forgot to mention it's just ME drinking the mulled wine and doing the tree decs ;D everyone else is banned! A few of my friends have their super duper styled trees in the lounge and hall and then the kids have to have their decorations on a separate tree....usually on the landing or in their bedrooms ;D I like my tree to look pretty 'groomed' but I also love the haphazardness of the 'memory' trees ;D we certainly grew up with one of those ( and the tree was made from silver and white tinsel ) and even though my Mum moved into the 'in the style of John Lewis' many years ago ,we found a box of all our old childhood decs when we were clearing out her loft not so long ago .....lovely memories. Everyone's trees will be lovely, unique and magical and I'd love to have a thread seeing them......and I'm really sorry that this thread has digressed from its original topic.....bet Jake isn't though!its diverted attention from his misdemeanors! ;D x
Re: Jakes trail of destruction Last year we had a main tree in the living room, which Harry kept away from okay. A white one on the bathroom window sill. A pink one in daughters bedroom, a huge silver one in spare bedroom/living room upstairs. And I think that's all. You can get huge posters of trees, that go on the back of the door, or a sticker version maybe? Charlie might be a bit of bother I reckon, so I'm going to have to re think the usual arrangement.... If you don't put one up it's always those that never help, who then complain, oh it's a shame we don't have a tree... I can always point them to the loft ladders I suppose... x
Re: Jakes trail of destruction I remember one year , I decided to go all chic and stylish , just silver decs on the tree, silver lights too . The family hated it , went up into the loft to drag down the box of ancient multi coloured decs , plus the green and red lights and tinsel in garish colours , sorted, happy family ;D By the way , there is a cottage not far from us , we pass it on the beach run , they dont ever take their decs down , the front window is adorned all year round ;D
Re: Jakes trail of destruction Sorry but I couldn't stop laughing at some of these stories, I'm glad it's not just Jake that liked to chew everything in sight. As far as Christmas trees go Jake is yet to experience them, I'm dreading it as we also have four cats who like to hide in or under the tree. Think the temptation might be to much for Jake to take. Wonder how many times it will be on the floor. Jake likes to chase the cats, never hurts them, he usually locks them until they are soaked. I can only imagine what would happen if he sees one of them hiding in the tree.
