Hi - I’m after some advice. I am looking for a puppy and have found what in most ways seems a great litter. Hips, elbows, all standard health tests are good. Very low coi. Mum and Dad have a lovely temperament. But...one of the grandparents died young from cancer (no other details known). I’m not sure how much to worry about this if at all. I think some cancers are thought to be hereditary in dogs but can’t find any clear research on the risks. Am I worrying too much? Many thanks for any thoughts.
No, sorry, I don’t know. I guess some cancers can be hereditary, others less likely to be? If I can find out more is there anything in particular to avoid? Many thanks!!
