I have been looking to adopt a chocolate lab puppy for a while now and finally found a litter that have parents who both have the English boxy head. However the mom is silver (dad Pure English chocolate) and noticed she has a bit of hair-loss in the given nursing photos. I have heard many stories in my area about skin and coat issues with silver labs. Now my question is, is there a possibility a chocolate puppy from this litter having the same issues as the silvers since he will be a carrier of the recessive gene? The hair loss could be from the pregnancy or she could have the same issues as others in the area.
