I am a retired clinical psychologist and a woefully poor dog trainer. I have had well trained "big" dogs in the past. However, my one year old female pug, Mishka, is a challenge. We adore her (perhaps too much); she is exceptionally clever, energetic, fun and loving. However, I cannot stop her from barking at the TV set. We've been successful with just about everything else. (well, just about). Not surprisingly, loud noises in action films sets her off as do shows with crying, shouting, and sad music. At one year of age we haven't achieved much if anything in diminishing the barking, growling and pushing the TV. I feel that I may lose my clinical license as I'm a total failure in this regard. I've taught her look at me. I've tried feeding when TV goes on. I've tried I've tried I've tried. She gets a lot of exercise (I know she's a pug but this little pug likes to play and play and play). She is highly empathic. Okay, now I'm just boring. In short - any ideas?
