How to tell when her season has definitely finished?

I have what I'm sure is a very basic question - our 9 month old lab has had her first season and so we're obviously keeping her away from public places where other dogs might be. I wasn't sure though if there is a way to be certain when she's no longer fertile (and we can therefore resume normal walks!). Any tips? Or should we just wait for a full 4 weeks to be sure?

I know this is an old post but thought it better than starting a new one.

Do you count the full 4 weeks from the first sign of symptoms? We are on day 20 and the blood has only just stopped. I have heard mixed advice including you must wait 2 weeks after the blood stops!

Any advice would be great

 

I counted 4 weeks from the first day I noticed symptoms.

 

I recommend 28 days from the first sight of blood.
