Re: Possible infection? Fingers crossed then. Let us know how you get on. They know how to charge don't they ! : Jen Ps. Just wanted to add your vets sound a lot better than my old vet. The first 3 times I took them with the urine infection they just did a dip stick test which told them an infection but not what. It was 6 weeks before they sent off a sample to find out it was ecoli. Although it cost £99 at least if Charlie has an infection they will know what and how to treat it straight away which is good. I get cross when I remember all that messing they did and cross with myself for not insisting on something being done sooner. At least I've found a new vet. Think I'll always be a bit wary now though. ???
Re: Possible infection? Hope he's ok Julie. Certainly sounds like a bit of an infection. But 99 pounds for a test - blimey!!
Re: Possible infection? Yup, it's London. When they said £99 I didn't even blink - because I'm so used to the prices now...SO steep... Kate's lovely vet in Cornwall didn't even charge me for the consultation to check Charlie's ears were cleared up.

Re: Possible infection? Back from the vet - all clear. Tippy top results in the urine sample (they tested for absolutely everything possible - so at least I got my £99 worth) - absolutely nothing wrong. Full exam, all looks normal so put my mind at rest. Apparently, the strong smelling pee isn't unusual when they are over flowing with testosterone at 9 months... Not that you'd know Charlie was over flowing with testosterone - the dog walker brought him back today and said she had to save him from a little 5kg mutt that was trying to hump him and made Charlie very miserable, Charlie wouldn't even tell the mutt off when he could have squished mutt with one paw... While we were there - ears all clean, teeth in top order, and the marks on the roof of his mouth are just little marks of pigmentation. She also recommends tape worm treatment every 6 months, not 3 months, unless small children around or Charlie is particularly at risk. No reason to think he is so we're going for that. Anyway, doing the worm count thing anyway, so can review after that.

[/quote] Really? ;D ;D :-[ I am pleased, yes. What with the ear infection saga, I'm probably a bit too keen to catch anything else that might be an infection.
Re: Possible infection? Great news about the infection (i.e. lack thereof) Teenage boy wee......another reason why we don't have any kids ;D
Re: Possible infection? Thats great Julie glad Charlie is all well and your mind is at rest. You've also solved something for me that I've often wondered about. As you know I'm quite paranoid now about urine issues : and I've noticed their wee always smells strong first thing in a morning or if they've not been for awhile. It's particularly noticeable when it's cold weather. I thought the morning one was because it was concentrated but wasn't sure about later ones. Now I know it's because they are big butch boys ;D ;D Thanks Julie your £99 has helped me too Jen
