    Hello all,

I would like some advice please.

My golden lab Jessie is 5 years old. Last September she started acting very clingy and weird whilst on holiday. Usually a bright energetic dog. Never scared of anything. We were parked at a pub once with all the windows down, she jumped from the back of the estate car, over to the back seats and then into the driver seat and sat on the footwell (by the peddles). Was panting and shaking. Did not respond to any ques or calls.

    Very odd , very weird

When we got back a few days later she went to the vets and they said “can’t seem to find anything wrong”. I mention she has had issues with anal glands and so expressed them. Said they were full and might of been infected. ....so Possible cause. She was given an injection for antibiotic. Sent home.

She was fine for a few months, some drooling. But started acting Strange again, however this time with lethargy and vomiting. This vomiting was intermittent but was certainly different in character. She began drooling when out on walks and when mentioned at vets told it was excessive.

Again she went back the vets. Had some bloods done (told normal). Soon after she started hiding in the bathroom and shed. To be on her own.

I put her on rice etc to keep her stomach on a low impact diet and she stopped vomiting . The vets wanted to do an X-ray to rule out anything. They placed her on omeprazole , most people know this for reducing gastric acid. This did reduce her excessive drooling.

I came back to pick her up and they said that there was no obvious blockages or anything but for me to go elsewhere for througher xray and scanning. So I was a bit confused by this.

She used to be on dry kibble, a dog food called Markhus Mule. And now she’s on 50% prescriptions hill sensitive and 50% wet dog food.

She has been fine for weeks but today she has been hiding in the bathroom again.

I’ve taken her the vets about 6 times now and each time they say they can’t find anything wrong.

I’m really confused. What to do , I’ve seen 3 different vets at the practise all witb different approaches. One is experience but very conservative in treatment and vet bills are cheap , the other is young and wants all test going. The other is also experience but once to fix what needs fixing.

My dog is only young and don’t want her to suffer. I don’t want to change practises as I want continuity of care.

    Any advice? Thank you.
