My name is Debbie. My 13 year old white lab, Jake died last Wednesday night and I'm so sad, and very lonely for him. I feel a little guilt cause he was having health issues but I didn't want to put him down too soon. He'd be feeling sick and stiff joints... On one day and the next he was running like a little puppy. I asked my get for clarity but she told me I'd know him better than anyone. She did give me valuable information but I was still observing him. On Wednesday night he came up to my face all by himself and kissed me then he played down . About half an hour later, he yelped. I rushed over to him but he was gone. It was so quick. You never have the m long enough, in my opinion. The very next day, I began hearing his toenails on the wood floor. Maybe it was him visiting me. I still talk to him all day long. It was just him and I . Jake helped me get through the passing of my husband (five years ago today) I need to keep my eyes open for another lab companion.

Welcome Debbie, I'm so sorry for your loss. Jake sounds like a very special companion, and you gave him all the love and compassion possible. You would have known if he needed to go sooner, so don't feel guilty. I'm looking forward to hearing about your next Lab when you're ready to find them. Best wishes, Sarah.

    Hi Debbie and welcome

I am so sorry for your loss, I lost my girl at 13 last year and I was devastated. You don't realise just how much we talk to our beloved dogs all day.

I hope one day you'll feel ready for another lovely lab,I did and it really helped me
