My 14 week old jumped up and nipped my 6 yr old son resulting in her canine scratching open his lip. Needed one stitch. Today she won't leave him alone and continues to get on top of him. We are trying to train her but how do I get her to stop? Keeping on with training for sure.

You need to prevent free access between puppy and child. The child needs to know to leave the puppy alone and the puppy needs to have a puppy-proofed area where she lives indoors, until no longer exhibiting puppy-ish behaviours. Any time the puppy and child are in the same room, the puppy needs to be wearing a puppy house line (tag line) and there needs to be an adult supervising with 100% of their attention to intervene and redirect the puppy onto a toy.

These kind of things are common issues with new puppies and one reason why many breeders won't home to homes with young children....

My twins were 6 when we got Meg. I kept them apart until she was well over this stage. It was just a recipe for disaster. It did not impact on their future relationship, they are fabulous together now, but not with the risk during the crocopup stage.
