My Lab Marley has a slow eater and over time has learned to eat quicker with using his tongue, he doesn't chew either, so he inhales all this air as he eats, which sometimes causes a upset stomach or him to cough it back up when he eats, is there suggestions or advice to help with this?

    Hi @MarleyBoy

Use some larger cuts of beef/meat so that he has to actually shear the meat himself into smaller pieces. The shearing will help in cleaning his teeth.

If it's just dry kibble you would try using a snuffle mat, really push the bits deep inside.

Willow does this with dry food kibble in her bowl or if fed as treats when out walking even with a puzzel bowl.

Snuffle mat or you can get special food bowls designed to make them eat slower. We use one that looks like a maze. Also you can a wobble Kong. We use that sometimes too. They have to push it around to get the food to dispense. It’s great if you have a deck or if you don’t mind the noise.
