Hi, my 8 month old lab/retriever boy has started barking, and I wondered how to control/stop this. It first started when he was on the sofa and saw a neighbour get out of his car. Also now the better weather is here and we are out more, when we sit in the garden he is aware of car doors closing nearby which gets his attention and possibly a bark. His grandad came to the back gate and he got a bark, and when at my allotment he barks when he's tied up when people are nearby, he has also barked at an old fella sat on the bench on the field. The bark is low and quite load and sometimes gives a low growl too. Its just a little disconcerting as I know he's soft, but other people will be obviously wary of him, and when the people put out their hands for him to sniff he goes over to them and then he's fine.
