My 4yr old lab has been having episodes since he was 2yrs. His are always triggered by a sudden wake up and have never plaster more than 5 minutes. This morning it unfortunately happened and he fell down the stairs. I felt guilty as I had woke him to go out for a wee and I noticed him stumble on the landing but couldn't get to him b4 he attempted the stairs, very scary moment. He has had about 6 in the last 2 years and they are never close together, he just collapses and goes quite stiff even in his face I always just stay with him and stroke him till he comes out of it then he gets up like nothing has happened. The thing I don't like is the fear in his eyes. My vet keeps saying it's epilepsy and I am struggling to make them consider this condition.

I'm so sorry to hear that your Lab has been unwell, that must be really scary :(
If you aren't happy with your vet's diagnosis, it's always okay to ask for a second opinion from another veterinarian. Potentially at another practice, if you really aren't happy.
Wishing you both all the best, do let us know how he gets along.

There are medications and treatments available for epilepsy. One of the most powerful with the least side effects in humans, is a ketogenic diet. You might want to investigate that, for your dog, by looking up the KetoPet Sanctuary and joining their FB group....
