    Hi Friends,
My sweet lab has moderate hip dysplasia and shows some discomfort in climbing stairs. He’s 9 years old.
Unfortunately, I booked a 3rd floor vacation rental (6 total flights) for us without realizing there was no elevator... Can’t get a refund.

Any advice on how to make it easier on my baby? He’s got scripts for Carprofen and Gabapentin. He’s lean- 75 lbs (down from 92). I’ve purchased a ginger-lead, but haven’t trained much with it yet.

I’m super worried! Any advice is appreciated.

    Hi @Jenni

    Welcome to the forum

    In no particular order

    1. Book your dog into a kennel while you go on the trip.
    2. Find a strong dog walker to carry him up and down the stairs.
    3. Use a towel under his flank to help support him.
    4. Offer owners to pay extra for ground floor dwelling

    My preference is for 1.
