I have an 11 month old lab. When my lab first started teething her ears began to fold and have been folded ever since. Is this some kind of recessive trait or could she grow out of them? She is a purebred and AKC registered. How many labs do you know or have you seen with these ears?

Um, I'm not sure what's wrong with her ears?

Coco had a fold in one ear only. He is LabxGSD, but his ears are certainly not pricked GSD ears, they are floppy Lab ears.

One of Poppy's ears has a fold, which developed also when started teething. In the past week it seems to be changing again and the fold is less pronounced.

Dallas has very similar ears, but is much younger, and his continue to do different things every day. And he’s a mixed breed. I have never seen a purebred Labrador with Rose Ears like that as an adult.

My hub pokes fun as Maggie has a little fold in her ears, but I like it because they DONT lay as flat trapping all the heat and her ears don't get as dirty as my other labs:)
