good morning I have a 1 year old chocolate lab he has digestive issues every few months. Diarrhea and vomiting with no other issues he still has energy and wants to eat. We watch him when he is outside running around so I’m thinking he’s having food allergies. He’s been on grain free, wet and soft and regular dog food. We are looking for suggestions about the best food for sensitive stomachs. Thanks

I wouldn't think that food allergies are the most common causes of V&D in dogs. It is more likely that the dog has picked up something - like giardia, for example. Giardia is known to affect dogs intermittently - for things to get better and then for the problems to return. The dog's immune system makes some progress towards nuking it - and then is overwhelmed by it again.

    Have a read of: https://www.beaglesunlimited.com/health/giardiasis-diagnosis-treatment-and-prevention

To diagnose giardia, you'd need your vet to run a faecal sample. It would be a good idea to do this anyway. The other option is to first try a 5 day course of Panacur 10%, if you're in the UK. The giardia dosage is on the instruction sheet and it is non-prescription and functions as a gentle wormer anyway. If that doesn't work, head to the vet. There are many things to rule out first, before you conclude that a food allergy is the cause.
