Hi everyone The past week Daisy hasn’t seemed herself, she’s been very quiet and calm, sleeping a lot and not really wanting to interact with anyone. She’s still a pretty mouthy pup too but even this has stopped completely in the past week. She is not as bothered about food and treats, she eats them but she sniffs them for a good few seconds whereas usually she can’t get them fast enough. She’s also been hiding under the kitchen table all the time, and reluctant to come out. She’s got very loose stool and occasionally some mucus in it. When out on walks she’s her usual self, you wouldn’t think anything’s wrong, the same when someone comes home she’s all excited and happy to see them but other than that she’s pretty quiet and keeping herself to herself. She is nearly 10 months and hasn’t had her first season yet, could this explain this behaviour or is this something we need to see a vet about? Anyone had any similar experiences?
Just to add: we’ve just realised she doesn’t like us touching her front paw, she pulls it away and runs off (to under the kitchen table). Managed to have a quick look and no obvious signs of a broken nail or a wound of any sort. She’s not limping or yelping or anything she just pulls it away when you touch it. Could she be in pain from an injury and that’s what’s causing her sudden change in behaviour? Any advice what to look for on the paw?
Hi @Jordan Maides You know your dog. You are manifestly concerned at the change of behaviour over the last week. I would take her to the vet. It could be the onset of her season but it's better to get things checked out.
