My Labrador Sophie is nearly 20months old she had her first season at 13mth. Not a sign of a second season.
Hi I was wandering if this is normal. My first lady Labrador. First season 13mth Now nearly 20months no sign of her coming into another season. Is there any reason for this.
I don't think it's likely to be anything to worry about as long as your girl is in good health (though of course ask your vet if you are concerned). Molly, my dog, had her first season at 11 months and then didn't have her second one till she was around19 - 20 months old. I then had her spayed. I had another bitch, a spaniel, some years ago and she also had more than 6 months between seasons.
Lots of females do this although text books say it should be regular it's often not. It's like Joy says a lot of girls are very irregular in their seasons. As long as she's healthy and happy and has no silent seasons she should be fine. Could you talk to her breeder and she if her mother was the same? Or speak to your vets maybe they can reassure you.
Hi my girl Skye is 15 months old. She's in the 19th day of her 1st season. About 5 days ago she stopped bleeding and the swelling in her bum went right down, she's almost back to normal now. About 3 days ago she started bleeding again fairly heavily. Is this normal? Thanks
