    Hi everyone, sorry in advance if this has already been posted before but I am becoming genuinely concerned about my 5 year old black lab. Marley's bottom left eyelid has been droopy and the white inside is a pinkish red color with the third eyelid visible at all times. She just woke up with it like that one day and its been that way for about 2 weeks now and it's only the left eye. Last week I took her to the vet and all the doctor said was that it could be allergies and gave me a hydrocortisone cream to put in her eye everyday for a week. It's been a week with no changes to the eyelid. Still droopy and red. Has anyone dealt with this issue before and if so does it go back to normal? I read that there's something called Horner's Syndrome that has no known cause and no cure. Could this be the case? Any info is appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi Dom, welcome to the forum.

    So sorry to hear your dog has a sore eye. If I were you i'd go back to the vet, let them know that there have been no changes and ask them to review the situation. If you aren't happy with your initial vet's assessment, it's always okay to ask for a second opinion.

    Let us know how she gets on!

    Hi there. I just saw this today. I had responded to another post below a few weeks back about our situation with our puppy. Wanted to share it;

    "Hi there. A little late to this thread but actually came on looking for pups with eye issues. We have been going through it with our almost 7 month old since spring began. Been through many courses of different eye drops etc. Her eyes can be so red and droopy at times. Third eyelid sometimes covers much of her eyes. Her eyes have been checked by the vet several times and to be on the safe side we even took her to an animal ophthalmologist. He checked for all things and in the end it said it is definitely allergies. at first I thought it was tree pollen but pretty much all that is gone now and we just had a REALLY bad day with her eyes looking just horrible again and I saw that the MOLD spores are Extremely high. It all makes sense as we have had a really rainy spring and I am sure thats whats been causing it. Anyway. the specialist did say that it may just be this bad this year as she is a puppy and her immune system isn't fully developed. I do hope that is the case!!"

    update to the above. Maggies eyes have been getting better every day in the last week. Almost all tree pollen is gone and the mold count hasn't been so high. I guess I'll never know what exactly cause it but it was a full 8 or 9 weeks. Hope that helps some!
