hi, I could do with some advice. My 5 month old puppy had 2 days with diarrhoea, no apparent reason but eats everything so maybe he had eaten something which had upset him. I put him on to scrambled eggs and chicken and rice for 2 days and things returned to normal so moved him back to his normal kibble. Tonite he has had very runny poo again. Should I put him back on chicken and rice?

I would put him on chicken and rice and also reduce the amount of food generally you are giving him.

I'd also recommend FortiFlora probiotics, slippery elm, kaolin, and pumpkin powder - all these are generally excellent ideas for runny poops to try initially and should be in every dog owner's first aid box!

If that doesn't work, I'd try a 3 day course of Panacur (fenbendazole) - in the US, this is called Safeguard as a brand name - this is a wormer which is also effective against giardia, a common cause of runny poops.

If none of that works, then it's the vet!

Just went thru this last week. Vet said Chicken and Rice, plus gave me Diagel K9 and Pancur. She is doing much better and started mixing her regular food back in yesterday.
