my lab ate one of my socks 36 hours ago. It was a small ankle sock. He hasn’t thrown it up or pooped it out yet. He is eating, drinking, pooping, playing and acting normal. How long should it take to come out one way or another? He is 70 pounds.

My dog thinks socks are food. Small ones usually pass in under 24 hours, sometimes it takes longer, especially with bigger socks. As long as he is eating and pooing OK I don't worry too much anymore.

Maggie has also done this one time it took almost a week but she was pooping and peeing normal. BUT I also would catch her poop. The sock was rolled so tight and coated in poop but I could tell feeling it threw the bag there was something there and it was the ankle sock. If I didn't feel it I never would have thought she passed it.
