I’m new here. It seems like a strange time to join, when we’ve just lost our beloved Bella, but I feel the need to be with people who understand just how special labs are . . . especially chocolates. She was the most faithful companion, great with our kids and grandbabies, and everyone was her new best friend. She passed suddenly yesterday morning at 10 yrs, 4 months. A few hours earlier she’d participated in her normal morning routine - ate, went out, hung around while “Daddy” got ready for work and walked him to the door for a goodbye. I woke up a couple hours later and she was napping on her quilt next to our bed. A pillow had fallen off the bed and was laying on her hind feet and tail, so I picked it up and she lifted her head and looked me right in the eyes, but didn’t stir otherwise. Something in her eyes made me feel uneasy, but I spoke assurances to her like I always do (“Its okay, Belle”), and went on with my morning chores while she (I thought) napped. About an hour later I was missing her and went to check on her - and she was gone. She hasn’t been sick - other than some arthritis - and was playing in the yard like a puppy less than 2 weeks ago. I was close by all morning and she never made a sound. She had a thorough checkup a year ago and was just coming due for vaccines again. This has hit us like a ton of bricks - she’s been our constant companion and has traveled over 8,000 miles with us this past year. We just can’t imagine what happened, or what our future holds without her in it. Thanks for listening.

Hi, I am so so sorry for the loss of your lovely Bella. Nothing anyone can say will lesson the pain your feeling now,I know as we lost our beautiful girl suddenly 18 months ago. Thank goodness she was at home and knew you were there and she was not"unwell".

Things slowly do get better, you'll smile when you remember her instead of crying, you never stop missing them but you will always have her in your heart. Thinking of you all
