Hey there. Our 11 week old lab pup seems to wake for a wee between 4-4.40am. After the wee, he goes back to sleep for just a short time as is up and ready for the day at 5.30 ish. That's fine, I'm happy for the day to start then - but it's barely worth going back to bed as we know we'll be woken again within half hour.

Anyway, should we actually be setting an alarm for BEFORE he is asking to go out for a wee? So maybe an alarm for 4am?

How long do we do this for? In other words, how do we know when he doesn't need that 4am wee?

I hope this all makes sense, and thanks for any help :)

The suggested time on most of these posts to set an alarm and wake a puppy is 2am which would work if you are then getting up early.
