Hi my puppy is 4 months and doing really well, we did recall training with him at about 3 months using a long 30m training lead on some fairly quiet playing fields and he was fine we now walk him off lead at the park and common but have an 8m lead that trails behind him just in case we need to remove him or stand on it when he's playing with other dogs and gets a bit over excited. Or looks like he might jump on a passing jogger! Generally his recall is good EXCEPT when he is mid play with another dog and is having a wonderful time, sometimes the owner of the other dog may want to move on or we feel he's getting a bit over the top and try to call him back to us, then he pretty much ignores us despite having a high value treat on offer as playing with the dog is so much more fun! We keep the trailing lead on him for this reason, but I wondered if there are any tips for getting him to recall at times when he finds playing with another dog definitely more desirable to even a sausage :)
