My vet has advised to not yet introduce training treats like cheese, toast, chicken to my 12 week old kibble fed lab as it is too early and may upset his stomach. Unlike all my previous labradors, this beautiful fox red pup is not hugely food motivated! Is there a general consensus on when it’s ok to begin to introduce these ‘tastier’ treats? Thanks

There are some tasty treats out there that aren't as ' junk foody' as toast and cheese. Mine was crazy for dried sprats although they are a bit smelly. I can't see a bit of cooked meat doing much harm myself. Wet dog food is nutritionally balanced and much more highly valued than kibble - I found it great for recall (fed from a Tupperware container) or even fed with a spoon for boundary games.
