even though he's my 5th lab first time I've had one get it, we had played out in the rain for about 4 hours then a 25 min drive home & had stupidly forgotten to take a towel, or his coat. He hates the rain so generally wears a coat. We are now going to invest in some drying coats for when he has to go home in the car wet. The poor thing was very uncomfortable the night it happened, but seemed a bit better the next day. He was at the vets the next day anyway & our vet said it didn't need any treatment, just rest. It took a week before it was back to normal, but he seemed out of pain the next day

    1. If he was sick close to breakfast time, and just brought up bile, it may have been "Hunger Pukes" It is not uncommon for a hungry dog to throw up bile, especially in the morning. More common in pups than grown dogs.

    2. Limber tail is also called Cold Tail and is often caused by a lot of swimming. I'm not sure that cold really has anything to do with it, maybe just the exercise, but where we are, the water is never warm. A couple of our Labs have had it once or twice. They never seemed to be in much discomfort, but sure looked sad with their tails hanging down. With ours it only lasted a few days and did not need any treatment, but I have heard about dogs that seemed to be in some pain. It seems to go away in a few days regardless.
