Hi all, My Maggie just turned One on Sunday. She has been such a GREAT puppy. We work hard at training every day. She is a lover and she gets a LOT of attention all day long. She is not a crated Dog and we have never had any issues. All of the sudden about 3 weeks ago, she began to "steal" things and take them to her bed. She is not chewing them up, just "hoarding" them :p She steals things like the bathroom rug, a shoe hear or there, and now she is stealing Christmas Decorations. Any thoughts?? :) Silly Puppy!

Has she had her first season yet? If so, was it about 11 weeks ago?

No visible signs of it. Vet said if she did maybe it was a "silent" first season!

Are you thinking she could be pregnant??? oh noooo I don't think she has been around any un neutered Males!

I agree with 5labs and was thinking the same thing. No, not that she is pregnant, but that she is experiencing a false pregnancy. This is very common in intact females at the same point after a season or heat that they would usually have puppies (if they'd been bred). THe hormones of a pregnant bitch and a not-pregnant bitch are almost identical until this point so mild cases of false pregnancy are so common as to be normal really - nothing to worry about. It will pass in a week or so...
