Our friends 5 yr old Sammoyed was running through our house and slipped on the vinyl floor. There was an immediate howl of pain, followed by continuous howling, and refusal to put his left back leg down. After being comforted a couple of minutes he walked over to one of the dog beds and lay down. He walked almost normally with a bit of a limp. The next time he got up he was back to normal and ran a played as if nothing had happened. Same thing this morning. While I sometimes think is a bit of an actor, I have never seen a dog appear to be that much discomfort, and then be completely back to normal in less than an hour. Any thoughts or recollections of seeing something similar?

My friend will consult her vet about the experience. She had seen something similar when he jumped off the bed and appeared to have injured his leg, but recovered in a few minutes.
