1 yr old Chocolate girl has a lump that appeared quickly under her chin. It does not seem to be sore and it does not bother her. 1st Vet had no idea what it is. He asked us to wait 2 weeks and see what happens. I am a pro active person. I took her to another Vet for a second opinion. She did not know what it is either but suggested we try a round of antibiotics and go from there. So that is where we are at the moment.
Has anyone had this happen to you?

    Hi
Labs do get lumps and bumps all the time. Most turn out to be nothing serious and she is very young. As you say you are a proactive person you could ask them to aspirate it(i.e put a needle in to see if they can draw off any fluid to examine under a microscope) Having given you antibiotics I guess they think it is an infection of sorts.
Let us know how you get on.

Thanks! After this round of antibiotics I fully intend to ask for aspiration.

That’s great it’s responding to the antibiotics. Did the vet say how long it might take?

No the vet did not say how long or if it would even work. We have a follow up Vet visit after the antibiotics. The lump is smaller since last post. I do not know if time has made the lump decrease or the antibiotics. ( this is because we did not know if there was infection) She is also drooling a bit again...

WE have started a 2nd round of Antibiotics. The lump is almost non existent. But there is a sac (lack for better description) in the spot under the chin. We will finish antibiotics and see what happens.
