    Hi everyone,

I’m looking for any advice you might have on the lumps (possible interdigital cysts?!) on my chocolate labs paws. This has been on-going for a couple of years so I’ll give you some background info..
Initially she had little red lumps/rashes on her underside/belly and the vet tested for allergies - we were told she was allergic to most things and she was put on Apoquel. This got rid of the rashes but she started getting red sore blister like lumps on her paws between her toes. The first one she had the vet removed with surgery but she is still repeatedly getting them come up and the vet constantly prescribes antibiotics or steroids which now don’t have much effect. She also had more in depth testing for allergies and we were told the results were all negative for allergies! She is on a hypoallergenic food, we have tried sprays on her paws, bathing them in salts, wiping them with medicated cloths etc etc the list goes on. We are currently with a dermatologist vet but he seems to be at a loss as to what to do and keeps giving us antibiotics and steroids which at the moment aren’t having an effect.
We try to keep track of everything to look out for triggers but there isn’t anything that has ever stood out.
At the moment she has sores on all 4 paws and her front paw has sores on the paw pad so she is limping.

Would love to hear if anyone has had experience of this with their Lab or any advice you may have?

    Thanks in advance! :)

I can’t really offer any advice but it sounds pretty miserable for her.
When the initial lump was removed was it tested?
My lab has Mast Cell cancer which is a histamine response and related to allergies. Presumably you have already tried antihistamine drugs such as Piriton in the UK or Benadryl in US.
You could also consider something like golden paste which is a naturally anti-inflammatory.
I would also consider going to a different vet for another opinion.

They tested the lump and it was all clear, they told it it was a deep rooted infection caused by allergies. But since being with a different vet and further testing (bloods sent to Holland), they have found her to have no allergies.
Will try golden paste though, thank you.
