Our red fox lab Hazel is about a year and 3 months old. We have been working with our Vet for over 5 months now trying to understand an intermittent limp in her front left leg.
It shows up after activity, but only after a good bit....an hour or so walk off leash in the woods seems to be the limit...
She’ll lay down for a nap, and when she gets up she’ll have a very noticeable limp , that goes away after she moves around a bit.
There was no major/significant-incident that we can think of that started this.
she’s about 55lbs tested negative for lyme and otherwise in great health. We’ve had her on dasequin and carprofen for the last couple months, she has responded well to the carprofen, seems to allow a little more time off leash before the limp shows up.

any thoughts? Or similar issues? She loves adventuring with us, we would love to get her feeling better!

My previous lab had an intermittent limp that was identified as coming from his shoulder. We were referred to Fitzpatrick’s who wanted to do a very expensive exploratory operation. I asked if there was an alternative and they said to lead walk for 3 months(he was about 4 at the time)It seemed like an age but cured the problem with no need for medication or surgery.
