    Hi all,

sorry for the long post but I tried to keep it as short as I could.

I have been having kind of a strange problem in the last few days, even the vet didn't seem to help much.

My pup (female almost 4 months old) last week started having a bad breath but I didn't think to much of it.

Saturday she pooped very little and it was hard.

Then Saturday night it was a poop after another every one hour and half or two (soft and very smelly) almost all night.

Sunday the bad breath was gone but during the day again the poop was little and hard.

Sunday night again she poop almost all night, it was soft but the smell was practically zero.

Monday I call the vet and he suggest we analyse the feces.

On this day I decide on my own to have the dog skip a meal (Monday), and during the night all good, not a single poop.

Tuesday I take her to the vet and all seems good, the poop test negative for everything, her temps are ok, she is playful, everything seems ok.

The doctor is kind of pushing for the idea that the dog might have eaten a piece of bread or something. Not likely at all since she is being watched almost 24/7 or anyway she is confined where no food/stuff can be found. He was also suggesting to change her food.

So Tuesday after the vet I go back to her 3 meals a day and last night we are back at it.

Another weird part is that the night poops are almost covered in a jelly like transparent film that I have never seen in dog feces (most of the time it's not diarrhea although a couple of times was)

The dog beside her 3 meals a day (prolife chicken and rise) takes some chondroprotectors (condrogen energy) which I give her with her evening meal.

I am inclined to think that these pill might cause the problems so I decided to try and give them in the morning and see what happens (testing now)

Weird part is that she has been taking them for a while without any problems, even the food and feces have been perfect so far (even her mother and grandmother eat the same thing).

Do you guys have any idea/suggestion? I am pretty lost on this one.

    Thank you!

    Hi
I don’t know if anyone else gives joint supplements to their puppy but it isn’t anything I have heard of.
Maybe these are the problem. Does the vet know/ recommend them?

yes the vet recommended the supplements.

I now stopped giving them to the dog but the situation is pretty much the same.

Also behind the vet advice we are trying to switch protein so we can check if there is some kind of intolerance to chicken.

We are now testing lamb but still with rice (might be some kind of digestive issue)

If it still doesn't work we are going to switch the rice with potatoes, maybe the dog is allergic to cereals.

After that it's anyone guess, hopefully the pup will get better with the new food.

Any input/guess or idea are greatly appreciated, thanks!
