    Hello All,
So Arnie is 9 months now and is in the middle of a Giardia saga that’s been ongoing since October....I thought we had finally cracked it in early Jan but it’s back again today! We’ve had 4 courses of antibiotics and a couple of Panacur sessions and a different dewormer too all from Oct-Jan and It keeps coming back.
I presume it’s in the area we live in and he’s picking it up on his walks....I’ve no idea how to keep him away from it if it’s all over.....I’ve done everything I can with our own area and I clean his bum after any diarrhea bouts so he doesn’t lick himself and reinfect again....but not sure what else I can do....
This time after another positive test today the vet has had given us another Panacur dose and tried him on a new food to see if somehow what’s he’s eating is aggravating the Giardia as she told me many dogs have Giardia but never get any actual symptoms....I’m doubtful on this as only the antibiotics helped us at all so far I will try anything....
Does anyone have an experience with this or have any suggestions? We’ll try anything...
The bright side is he isn’t acting sick - it’s just the 3am diarrhea run we could do without!

oh so sorry your going through this,it's horrible. I don't have any different advice I'm afraid but just to say it will clear eventually.

Our girl had this when she was young, she was really poorly and it took several courses of antibiotics to clear but it's so good when it does. Good luck, sending hugs

Sorry to hear you are going through this it is horrible, our pup had giardia for 4 or so weeks at the start of the year. You may already be doing this but I religiously sterilised his water and feed bowls, any rubber chews and washed all his toys and bedding in dettol wash and dried in the tumble drier I understand giardia does not like the heat. I made sure I did it on the day treatment was finished too. Good luck and hope your pup is on the mend soon

I'm quite experienced with giardia, having had a Weimaraner who recurrently had it throughout her life. It was a total PITA. But to be able to help you more, we'll need a kind of diary of what's happened, when - symptoms, meds tried, result of meds on poop, stool tests (when and results) and so on... Otherwise it's all a bit vague...
