    Hi all,

My 18 week black lab, Nelson, has started an odd behaviour... while out for a walk, within 5-8 minutes he goes behind me and jumps to be picked up..... he’s getting close to 40lbs so you can imagine why this is not ideal for a few reasons!

Nothing seems to to trigger it, he doesn’t look in pain. We stop and all he wants to do is to hug (his arms on my shoulder). He walks amazing for his age. Loose leash isn’t a problem.

Sometimes his lipstick is out, so maybe he’s over excited/stimulated? But it is not every time. It happens on quite streets and loud streets. Mostly on a neighbourhood walk, but a couple times when out at the beach.

He can be distracted, with treats and changing directions.

He runs off leash forever, so I think it doesn’t seem like pain?? But maybe?! Help!
