Hi everyone ! I have Everest , who is a male (neutered) chocolate lab. Everest is a great guy and is your typical friendly excited lab. He growls in a soft cat purr sort of way but it doesn’t concern me because it more of like a play-ish friendly groan : he normally does it when he’s getting a nice belly rub - but that doesn’t concern me . He also play growls when we are playing tug of war but that also doesn’t concern me . However today on our walk there was a house on construction and I think he heard one of the builders drills tightening something. All of a sudden he starts barking and having a low dominant growl - he’s never done this before. He just kept barking and had some sort of aggressive growl ? Has this ever happened to any of you and what did it mean? (I just pulled him away and continued our walk ) this is him btw :
