Air/fly biting (when excited) I have never seen this in puppies before (looking up) does this happen?

Yesterday when we were in the tub together (he loves the water lol especially when I am in the tub). He started to stare (his eyes kept moving up) at the ceiling - wasn't sure if he was curious or just star gazing (which got me worried).

Should I be concerned about this? I did quickly email the vet last night. I mean he is only 11 weeks.

Air biting has only happened really intensely once and 2 few short episodes. The ceiling gazing just once lastnight. He is naturally curious and enthusiastic!

    I am always watching.

I have intrusions and I rapdily overthink alot (Complex PTSD) to the point that it wrecks havotic on my system

I am very worried, he is absolutely my love. I am concerned about neurological problems.

Maybe I am making s bug deal about it. Google isn't always 100% accurate.

    Looking for some comfort.

Hi there, I split off your reply to an old thread on this topic, so I'll delete that one for you. :). This is an interesting topic and comes up from time to time. So I've put a summary up in an article. You can find it here: Air Snapping In Dogs

The chances are it's nothing to worry about. But getting in touch with your vet was the right thing to do.

I really do recommend you take a short video if it happens again, as its quite difficult for your vet to make a judgement without seeing the behavior. Good luck and let us know how you get on

Thank you. He comes from excellent lines, all cleared for genetic diseases, CKC, etc yes I do worry. I think most owners do. Thank you for the validation. I read your article and definitely put my mind at ease. Both vet and breeder have been contacted.

The breeder assured it is gestured play. All her puppies do this. The vets have also made sure that there wasn't any neurological issues going on. Whew. HUGE relief! I am still following up with my vet well because I am that through. He hasn't done it since that day.

    I will keep an eye.

Vet said unless it is happening all the time best to keep an eye for liver shunt. But otherwise we will just be observing. :)
