Hello everyone, my name is Bobbi and I have a 5 month old yellow lab. I’ve had her for two months and have been using a trainer to help me learn how to train her. In some areas she’s doing well, in the area of biting, she’s terrible and I’m having a very hard time breaking her of this habit. I know she’s teething and she’s still a baby but the biting and nipping me is making me crazy...I have bruises on top of bruises. I am beginning to think I made a huge mistake bringing her into my life. I have wanted a dog for so long that after my husband passed, I knew I had the time and energy to train a puppy but I never realized the biting would be such a huge problem. I’m hoping this forum can help me learn how to stop her nipping/biting.

Hi BobbiD, welcome to the forum :)

Congratulations on your new Labrador, and rest assured, you're not alone. In fact, if you search this forum for "puppy biting", you will find pages and pages of posts from puppy parents who have been exactly where you are now!

5 months is the peak bitey time for lots of puppies (mine included, and I also wondered if I'd made a terrible mistake), but it does get better soon!

Here's a thread Pippa started, with some specific advice for surviving this stage: https://thelabradorforum.com/threads/biting-puppies-help-for-new-puppy-parents.24782/

Hang in there, and let us know how you get on.
