Hi I’m new on here, so hope I’m posting correctly? my 4 year old started limping in Feb all out the blue, have taken her to the vets but with covid I’m not allowed in with her so the examination didn’t go to well as she was very anxious! I did send video clips over and they gave her some kind of anti inflammation medication which done nothing! The limps got worse now restricting her walks as the vets said only give ten minutes in morning and at night.she’s booked in this Friday for a 2k scan I’m slightly worried as I feel is this scan really needed no other tests at all have been carried out has any one else had a limping dog?

One of my young labs limped in January. I gave him 6 weeks crate rest then 6 weeks lead walking, then a slow increase to normal activity. It may have been unnecessary, but I take soft tissue injuries very seriously. I assumed it was a soft tissue injury as he had recently been hip and elbow scored and there did not appear to be any joint pain.

    Hi
My previous lab developed a limp from his shoulder about the same age. He had an xray(not scan) and we were referred to Fitzpatrick’s. They wanted to go in and do an exploratory operation that was going to cost £2500 plus. I asked about alternatives and they said 3 months restricted exercise. Worked a treat. Limp was gone.
