Thin Labrador yr old

    Hi! I have a year old male lab who is extremely hyper and stays very thin! He’s been wormed , cost shiny and full of life but he’s very thin! Any suggestions! He eats very fast also

    It is quite normal for busy young labs to be slim. Are you able to upload a picture of him/
    Being able to see his last ribs when he is panting, stretching, eating etc if fine, but you shouldn't be able to see then when he is just stood. This may not be the case for you, but people are often used to seeing overweight labs so a slim dog may be of unnecessary concern.
    If you can see his ribs then you may want to look at what you are feeding him.

    I have a working/ field lab of 15 months, she’s quite mini and very athletic and slim. If you search on the internet for ‘body condition score dogs’ you will find a nice visual and clear guide to this. This may help you too ?
