Our 13ish yr old rescue lab with kidney failure recently started barking for what seems like no reason and at all hours. Sometimes she does want to go outside. She is having trouble moving especially as an older 3 legged dog. Could it be pain? Dementia?
Yes, it could be pain or dementia and it's best to have at least a video consult with your vet who may be able to give you some meds to trial.
