I have a chocolate Labrador bitch, she regularly gets problems with brown ear wax, I check her ears every couple of day, I have been taking her to the vets. I buy from Animed From as the vet charges are getting ridiculous. The vets bill was £97 for his service and Was given Otodine in know I can but it on line from Animed for £14 pounds they wanted to change me £27 just for Otodine which I refused to buy it from them. Can anyone help with advice on treating her myself. I buy CleanAural sensitive. She does not have ear mites just wax thanks

My lab would get monthly ear infections and everything the vet suggested never worked to stop her from getting new infections. After trial and error I found what works for her and she has been infection/ brown wax free for two years. I give her a bath every two weeks. I put cotton balls in her ears when I do to prevent water from getting in her ears. Directly after her bath I use Vet’s Best ear cleaning kit. I use both the ear wash and the dry in the kit. I follow the directions given. TWO years ear infection free! If your dog swims (mine hates water) I would use the wash and dry after every swim. Hope it works for your pup as it has mine!

Thornit is a very well-known and well-respected treatment for ear wax build up, and something the majority of doggie folks in the UK know about and use - but mysteriously something vets don't seem to be introduced to, at vet school. If you go online to Amazon and search for Thornit and read the reviews, you will see the rave experiences which have also been my own, with my own dogs...

I'd second Thornit! Smells 'orrible, but really effective.
