Hi, our Labrador has got a few patches on his side where his hair is thinning quite a lot and can see his skin underneath, I was just wondering if anybody knew what was causing this?
There can be many different causes of this, from allergies, to parasites like fleas or mites - through to systemic and chronic conditions. Really, it is best to see a vet who might do a skin scraping to look for any possible causes and take general bloods to see if anything looks off. If that doesn't show anything, you could try a species appropriate diet and see if it resolves...
