Hello, I am new to this site as well as a soon to be new Labrador owner. We collect our pup next week and she will come with 1 month insurance so I am looking at pet insurance for after this. We will be going for lifetime cover but unsure of which level of cover to go for as a minimum. Can anyone recommend which insurers to go for or avoid and whether i should go for £3000 or £7000 as my minimum cover? So far John Lewis and PetPlan seem to be good on reviews. John Lewis is coming in at £32.49pm for essential cover (£3000) and £47pm on plus cover (£7500). Petplan is coming in at £33.94pm for essential cover (£4000) and £38.52pm for plus cover (£7000). I am also with direct line on my car insurance but havent seen much about them as a pet insurer. Any information or guidance is greatly appreciated.

Also some information about our puppy, she is pedigree with good hip and elbow results. We have purchased her from a 5 star licensed breeder where 5 generations of both mum and dad are known.

    Congratulations on your immanent arrival!

Luna is nearly 11 months now and we are with PetPlan. We had to make a claim when she was 16 weeks and it was so easy to do! I am £26.98 a month and expect it will increase a little at renewal.

Look at Pet’s Emporium. We have Lifetime Silver. Has been invaluable for Toby’s cancer treatment. Found out the policy renews monthly and pays out £6000 per month with only one excess. A few exclusions and 5% of each claim paid. Last year was £24 pa. This year after at least £12000 in claims it is £36(from memory)

I recommend Direct Line. We've been with them for many years now and have claimed thousands. Our Weim had a £3K MRI scan and then £3K of spinal surgery at a specialists (Fitzpatrick Referrals) and many other claims too...
