I was wondering if any of you have had or does have 2 male labs in your home and how they react with each other. When we were looking to get a puppy many people told us 2 males were some times better than 1 male 1 female. Now we have 2 males our 2 year old and a 16 month old. I have been told that since our 2 year old is neutered he may become aggressive towards the puppy until he is, or that neutered dogs alot of times show aggression toward intact dogs. Now I'm petrified as our 2 yr old is already showing aggression towards the puppy which we are receiving guidance on so hopefully we can correct that. So ease if anyone has experience with this id really like your thoughts.

No experience with two male dogs, however my friend has two female dogs which neither one is spayed. One a 2 year old German Short Hair he hunts with and a 8 year old Queensland Healer he uses to cut cattle out of his herd and get them into a round pen. I've noticed between them that there is a fairly constant struggle between them for dominance. Not to say that's there's not days on end when they are not totally mellow with each other. My friend, the cattle rancher, is considered the alpha dominant by both dogs and they are constantly struggling with each other for the beta dominant position. So at times, in their struggles, is a lot of nipping and biting at each other and some roll on the ground fights which usually ends up wit no injuries to either dog. They usually just wear themselves out, lay out on the patio panting heavy, then go to their respective outside crates.

I currently have 4 intact males and four females; 2 intact, 2 spayed.
One of the dogs (a spaniel) will stand square up to the other boys if they have been apart. The other boys submit and we have never had any issues.
