I have two Labrador puppies and want to start their recall training. I intend to initially do this separately with each one but wondered if you had any advice about when they are together which will be most of the time. I was hopping to use a whistle but should I use two different recall cues so that the dogs know if it is them I am calling. Does this get confusing? Any advice or experiences welcomed.

Not sure you should to with both but continue training separate. I would however have the same recall signal for sure. That is what I have seen with people who have multiple dogs. No harm if both come back.

Get a whistle and toot it twice or however many pips you will use to get them to return. Toot the whistle at each and every feed irrelevant if they are under your feet or a distance away. Labs are food driven and they will soon associate the whistle with food and return. This method is a good start towards a good recall. Apart from this and sit and stay I personally would not try to train a pup anything else. They need their childhood...good luck
