Our 9 week old Lab puppy is a dudley and her eyes were blue, now they're a grey-green. We actually named her Blue, which isn't a problem if her eyes aren't blue anymore because we all still really like it. I was just curious if anyone thinks, from experience, that her eyes will stay green?
Hi Desert Kate welcome to the forum Congratulations on your new puppy! All puppies are born with blue eyes, although some look very dark from the beginning. Dogs start to accumulate pigment in their eyes from around 7 to 8 weeks old, and you'll have a pretty good idea of Blue's final eye color by the time she reaches 12 weeks. They may get a little darker between now and then, but there's definitely no going back to blue! I love the dudley eye color, I bet Blue is a real beauty!
